Sellers Terms

The complete agreement for makers and brands selling on Afrotierre — onboarding, listings, fulfilment, fees, payouts, and account standing.

1. Who these terms apply to

These Sellers Terms apply to every individual or business that lists, promotes, or sells goods through Afrotierre. They sit alongside our general Terms & Conditions, Acceptable Use Policy, Return Policy, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy.

By submitting a seller application, publishing a listing, or accepting an order, you agree to be bound by this agreement on behalf of yourself and any business entity you represent.

2. Eligibility & verification

To sell on Afrotierre you must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter into contracts in your jurisdiction, and able to lawfully ship the items you list.

Before any listing goes live we must verify your identity, business address, payout details, and shipment readiness. We may request additional documents at any time and may suspend a seller account while a verification review is pending.

3. Your shop & listings

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and quality of every item you list and every claim you make about it — including origin, materials, sizing, and certifications.

  • Listings must use your own photography or media you are licensed to use.
  • Pricing must include all mandatory taxes where required by your jurisdiction.
  • You may not list prohibited, counterfeit, hazardous, restricted, or infringing items.
  • We may edit, hide, or remove listings that breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.

4. Subscription plans

Selling on Afrotierre requires an active seller subscription. Plans, pricing, and included features are shown in your billing dashboard before purchase and may be updated with reasonable notice.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can switch between monthly and yearly plans at any time and cancel from the billing dashboard. After cancellation you keep access until the end of the current paid period; we do not provide pro-rated refunds for unused time unless required by law.

5. Fees, payouts & taxes

In addition to your subscription, Afrotierre charges a commission on each completed sale and may pass through payment-processing fees. All applicable fees are disclosed in your dashboard before you publish a listing or accept an order.

Payouts are issued through our verified payment partner to the bank account or payout method you have verified. You are responsible for collecting and remitting any sales tax, VAT, customs duties, or income tax that apply to your sales, and for keeping the tax information on file accurate.

6. Orders, fulfilment & shipping

When a buyer places an order, a binding contract of sale is formed between you and the buyer. Afrotierre facilitates the transaction but is not the seller of the item unless explicitly stated.

  • Confirm and dispatch orders within the handling time published on each listing.
  • Use a tracked shipping method for orders above the threshold set in the Shipping Policy.
  • Provide accurate tracking information through the dashboard within 24 hours of dispatch.
  • Honour declared delivery windows and proactively message buyers about any delay.

7. Returns, refunds & disputes

You agree to honour the marketplace Return Policy as a baseline and any additional return terms you publish on your shop, whichever is more favourable to the buyer.

Buyers and sellers should first try to resolve issues through messaging. If no agreement is reached, Afrotierre may mediate, request evidence, and at its discretion issue refunds, partial refunds, or chargebacks against the seller's balance to enforce buyer protection.

8. Communication & buyer experience

All buyer communication about an order must happen through Afrotierre messaging so we have a clear record. Off-platform contact, payments, or transactions related to a marketplace order are not allowed.

Respond to buyer messages within 2 business days. Treat every shopper with respect — harassment, discrimination, or retaliation against reviews is grounds for immediate suspension.

9. Intellectual property

You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, brand names, and other content you upload. By uploading, you grant Afrotierre a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and promote that content on the marketplace and in marketing materials related to your shop and listings.

You must not upload content that infringes another party's intellectual property, publicity, or privacy rights. We respond to valid takedown notices and may remove infringing content and suspend repeat infringers.

10. Account standing & suspension

We monitor seller performance — including dispatch time, cancellation rate, dispute rate, response time, and policy compliance. Persistent issues can result in reduced visibility, listing limits, payout holds, or account suspension.

We may suspend or terminate a seller account at any time for fraud, repeated policy violations, risk to buyers, or as required by law. We will notify you of the reason where it is lawful and safe to do so.

11. Closing your shop

You can close your shop at any time from the dashboard. You remain responsible for fulfilling open orders, processing valid returns, and responding to disputes for transactions made before closure. Outstanding balances will be paid out through the standard payout schedule once any holds are cleared.

12. Liability & indemnity

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Afrotierre is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the seller services. You agree to indemnify Afrotierre against claims arising from items you sell, content you publish, or your breach of this agreement.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Sellers Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice with reasonable notice before they take effect. Continued use of the seller services after that date means you accept the updated terms.
